It is important to take care of your teeth to avoid having your teeth extracted. However, sometimes there is no otherwise, and your dentist has to remove a tooth or two. Don’t panic, though. There are several dental replacement options to help you restore your cute smile. In this article, we will discuss the most common method used to replace a missing tooth.

Dental Implants

This option is usually used when only a single tooth needs replacement, or several places need replacement in different areas of the mouth. Dental implants involve the use of titanium metal frames that are surgically mounted on the lower or upper jaw. Replacement teeth are then fixed on the frame.

The frame holds the replacement teeth and prevents them from shifting or falling. You can then eat, smile, and talk with comfort. It is by far the best option for teeth replacement.

Benefits of Dental Implants

This type of implants looks like natural teeth and gives you the confidence to talk, smile, and eat without worrying. Dental implants last for long. The implants can last forever. They are this tough and durable because of the titanium frames.

Dental implants are easy to maintain compared to other tooth replacement options. They also stimulate tissue growth. You can eat anything with implants and they are convenient.

Risks of Implants

To have dental implants, you will require to undergo surgery. Only patients in good health can use this option as they can easily recover. They are not suitable for patients with massive tissue loss. This option is expensive than other options, and you might need a lot of money to cover all the costs.

Removable Partial Dentures

Just as the name suggests, these are tooth replacements that can be removed. Partial dentures have a tooth that is attached to a gum base that looks almost natural. The natural-looking base depends on your natural teeth for support. Some dentures come with clasps that attach to your natural teeth.

The base looks like normal gums while the replacement dentures resemble natural teeth. The partial dentures will feel different, and they may take you sometime before you adjust.

Benefits of Partial Dentures

  • The dentures look just like normal teeth
  • Cheaper than implants
  • improves your smile

Drawbacks of Partial Dentures

Partial dentures can be uncomfortable until you adjust to them. The dentures might feel rough, and they take some time to adjust.

Since partial dentures can be removed daily for cleaning, they are prone to damage due to constant handling.

It can be hard to maintain.

Fixed Dental Bridge

This type of tooth replacement option works well for patients who are missing single or several teeth in one area. An artificial tooth is used to bridge the gap left by an extracted tooth. The artificial tooth is attached to the next natural tooth.Dental cement is then used to bond the two.

There are three types of fixed dental bridges, namely, Maryland, Traditional, and Cantilever.Visit Engineered Smiles to get help and advice from our dentists on the best type depending on your condition. We will provide you with the best services in Marietta, GA.

  • It is hard to clean under and around the bridge properly
  • If fitted poorly the bridge will damage the natural teeth over time

How Successful is Tooth Replacement?

The success of these procedures depends on many factors. Some of these factors include where the replacements are being placed, and the position of missing teeth. The success rate also depends on how the patients handle themselves after the procedure.

Who can Undergo Tooth Replacement?

Anyone can undergo this process as long as they have strong and healthy gums that can hold the implants. People with any heart conditions and diabetes have a higher risk of developing complications after the procedure.

Absolutely love this place, I’ve been coming here for the last two years. I didn’t have insurance when I first started, and they had a great payment plan that they were able to let me work with. I see Jennifer, and she is the absolute best! Dr. Wang and his entire staff have always been extremely friendly and helpful. I will continue coming back to this location for years to come come!

Like most people I don't particularly enjoy going to the dentist. The staff, hygienists, and Dr. Wang himself make this practice the best one I have ever gone to. I have been I patient for over a year now. I recently made the decision to get a filling from another dentist redone. That filling had me terrified because my last dentist didn't properly prep me. I told Dr. Wang and he listened very attentively and took the necessary steps to make sure I was properly numbed and fixed my filling and I didn't feel a thing! The shop itself is very clean and organized. It's and old Bank building and they cleverly used the value for the X-ray room. A big shout out to Jennifer for being great and very gentle with my cleanings. Also, the office manager Autumn, for always working with insurance for me and getting the financials as low as possible without me having to ask. I have recommended several people to this practice and all have had great experiences and continue to go back. This practice is absolutely worth checking out!

Dr. Wang and his amazing technology create incredible results. I have had an implant and a crown and they are perfect replicas of my original teeth, only healthy. Also, the work was efficient and practically pain free!! He and his support staff are all kind and gentle. This practice is highly recommended both by me and by my husband!

Dr Wang went above and beyond to make sure I thoroughly understood his proposed treatment plan for a front tooth implant. He spent almost an hour on the phone with me addressing all my questions and concerns and outlining his reasons for choosing a particular method or timeline. He was patient and specific. The following day he spent even more of his time demonstrating some of the incredible technology he would be using to ensure success of the procedure. He is incredibly smart and his engineering knowledge seems to be coming in handy!! Wonderful dentist with a broad range of talent!

I’ve continued to use Dr. Wang as my dentist for several years and have always been more than happy with him. His staff is excellent and Jennifer, my dental hygienist, was friendly and did a great job. Dr Wang is always thorough and takes the time to answer all the questions I have - I trust him and continue to refer friends, family and coworkers to him and they have always been happy to say the least!

I could not get my regular dentist and Dr Wang popped up on Google as if by magic! I have a severe phobia about dentists but the glowing reviews about Dr Wang and his staff gave me courage to make that call after years of putting off the dentist. I was still anxious as I arrived for my appointment (I would not have gone but for the pain I was in) Dr. Wang was so personable cheerful and took his time explaining the procedure. He was very gentle. Even though I can't remember their names I can't say enough about his staff who displayed the same patience and encouragement. No one has paid me to do this review. It's all my true feelings. Dr Wang you have a patient for life in me
